Alert neighbor scares off burglars
A neighbor fired two shots into the air after he saw two men running off with items from his neighbor’s house near the intersection of Milton Carlisle Road and U.S. Route 40.
Deputies responded after the man notified them of the burglary around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, they discovered numerous items missing.
“We found multiple items believed to have been removed from the residence in the backyard and the grass area along the road,” Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brad Barnhart said.
Upon further investigation police found forced entry into the home.
Police said night burglaries are rare at homes.
“Generally we get the business break-ins during the nighttime hours, but this is somewhat unusual,” said Barnhart. “We encourage neighbors to be vigilant and lookout for suspicious activity.”
