Plane crashes at Clark County airport after running out of fuel

The Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a non-injury plane crash at the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport in Clark County.  The crash occurred at approximately 12:51 a.m. on July 11.

The aircraft, a Piper PA-32-30,  ran out of fuel while attempting to land at the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport. It then lost altitude and crashed into a heavy brush area. The plane was operated by Mark Teixeira, 52, of Jacksonville, Florida.

No injuries were reported. The Federal Aviation Administration has been contacted and will be investigating the incident.
