The National Trail Parks and Recreation District usually hosts the event, but due to two main reasons they have decided to cancel.
Leann Castillo, Director of the National Trail Parks and Recreation District said the biggest reason for canceling was because “we are not supposed to be having large gatherings of people.”

She added that the other reason is because the fireworks show is “strictly” dependent on donations.
“We do not have a budget for fireworks,” Castillo said. “We depend on donations from community members and businesses and at the time that this happened we had less than a third of the money we needed for having the fireworks show.”

The event costs over $25,000 and Castillo said they still needed to raise about $17,000.
“We didn’t feel that in this time that it was appropriate going back to the community and asking for donations because so many people and so many businesses were struggling at this point,” Castillo said.
This year would have been the 26th year of the fireworks show.
