According to representatives of Press Ganey, the Guardian of Excellence Award, which is presented annually, is presented to health networks that have consistently been placed in the top 5% of all clients for each reported period during the course of one year.

Ryan, the executive chairman of Press Ganey. “This honor reflects their unwavering commitment to improving the safety, quality, and experience of care. Press Ganey, a pioneer in the healthcare performance improvement movement, develops and distributes patient satisfaction surveys.
Ohio Valley, a physician-owned hospital has seen sizable growth since being established in 2009. Eisentrager told the News-Sun that the hospital has seen an increase in staffing by 25 to 50 employees annually in past years.
Ohio Valley has a staff of over 300 and employs about 50 surgeons who represent 12 specialties, according to the hospital.
Since opening, more than 115,000 surgeries have been performed at the hospital, averaging about 12,000 surgeries a year.
