A Facebook page dedicated to, “Peter Scarff’s Tumor Butt Kicking Update Page,” managed by Scarff’s family, posted a photo of a quote on Sunday announcing Scarff’s death with the caption, “Well done faithful servant.”
“Oh Lord, support us all the day long; until the shadows lengthen; and the evening comes; and the busy world is hushed; and the fever of life is over; and our work is done,” the quote reads.

Both Tecumseh Local School’s and the New Carlisle Rotary Club posted statements expressing love for Scarff’s family.
“Mr. Scarff graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1978. He dedicated many years to serving the students of our district through his work and dedication on the board of education, as well as through his business, Scarff’s Nursery and as a member of the New Carlisle Rotary Club,” a statement from Tecumseh Local School District said. “Always the gentleman, Mr. Scarff was a friend, leader and mentor to many of us over the years.”
In the statement posted by the New Carlisle Rotary Club, the club said Scraff would be remembered for his service to the community.
“Godspeed to you Peter Scarff. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers and continue your heart for service,” a statement from the club said.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
