NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY: Where to celebrate in Springfield

Today is National Doughnut Day and the best way to celebrate in Springfield is by getting some delicious doughnuts close to home.

Here are three places to get doughnuts today:

1. Schuler’s Bakery

Schuler’s Bakery, located at 1911 S. Limestone St. and 457 E. Main St., has been in the doughnut making business for over 80 years. Customers that buy a dozen doughnuts will get one doughnut for free. Schuler’s Bakery is open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m today.

2. Candi’s Concessions

Candi’s Concessions, owned by Candice Chester, will be at Scouts Cafe, 1399 Moorefield Road, selling mini doughnuts from 9 a.m. to noon. today.

3. Dunkin’

Dunkin’, located at 1931 S. Limestone St., is giving customers a free treat today. Customers will receive a free classic doughnut of their choice with the purchase of any beverage while supplies last. Dunkin’ is open 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
