Mercy Health invites associates to take part in the Be Well program, which provides incentives for them to complete a health screening, a well-being assessment, and other healthy behavior.
“We focus on mind, body and spirit, and help provide resources for them to participate in,” said Anna Derksen, manager of well being and recognition operations. “Associates earn points by completing them, and as they track their points, they earn more sweepstakes entries for prizes.”
In addition to earning a health reimbursement account (HRA) contribution, associates can also earn an entry into the sweepstakes for completing the program’s requirements.

“Within the program, it gives you goals to reach and things that you need to do, like more steps, trying to get more sleep, more exercise, things that help you in your job and in your personal life,” Habodasz said.
Derksen said the Be Well program gives out 15 retreat prizes a year for associates to use on the travel destination of their choice.
“It also provides time for an associate to take time away from work, really recharge their batteries, and be able to deliver the best kind of patient care they can,” she said. “Giving them money to do that is even more exciting and it’s definitely an incentive to keep participating in the Be Well program.’
