Manufacturing company to hold hiring event for new Clark County facility

Silfex will host a job fair in Springfield this weekend, where the manufacturer will take applications to fill a variety of positions as it prepares to open a new facility in Clark County.

Silfex, based in Eaton, has pledged to invest about $223 million in Springfield and recently purchased the former Thirty-One Gifts plant near the PrimeOhio Industrial Park for $11 million. The company is a high-tech manufacturing firm that provides silicon products for a variety of markets. Silfex has pledged to create as many as 400 jobs in the next few years.

The company will host a job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at OhioMeansJobs Clark County, 1345 Lagonda Ave. in Springfield. The career fair is free and open to the community and all qualified applicants are welcome to apply. Residents are asked to come prepared with at least three copies of a resume.

Available positions include machinists, engineers, quality inspectors, clean room technicians, package assemblers and manufacturing supervisors. For more information, residents can visit www.silfex.com.
