Members of the family from Medway, through a Go Fund Me page created in Hunter’s memory, said they believe the accident could have been prevented and are asking why there were “no child-proof locks on a hotel room nine stories high in the air.”
Hotel representatives issued a statement, which in part stated, “the loss of a child is heartbreaking and this tragedy has devastated us all.”
The child was pronounced dead at a Florida hospital. Panama City police officials said more information will be released once their investigation is complete.
