Cancer awareness fashion show is Saturday at Casey’s
Family members who have shared the burden of cancer will be among the models at Sisters United for Prevention’s annual cancer awareness and fashion show at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Casey’s Restaurant.
Dr. Ronald Fletcher, an oncologist specializing in pain management, will address the group.
Rita Jones will be the cancer survivor speaker.
CCESC board meeting is today
The Clark County Educational Service Center Governing Board will hold a special board meeting at 4:30 p.m. today at The Garfield Building, 25 W. Pleasant St., Springfield.
Tecumseh school board scheduled to meet Wednesday
The Board of Education of the Tecumseh Local School District will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the high school’s Arrow Conference Room.
TAC, Springfield City Schools to make lunches healthier
Springfield City Schools and TAC Industries, a nonprofit organization that helps find jobs for people with disabilities, have teamed up to provide healthier food for students, according to the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
The nonprofit, located on 2160 Old Selma Road, is building a 3,024 square-foot greenhouse to grow fresh romaine lettuce for the school by fall 2011. The greenhouse will grow 400 pounds of lettuce a week to serve the 6,000 students in Springfield City Schools.
