As grim news arrives about the coronavirus, it can be easy to think that dark news is all we will see. However, there are still bright spots.

Dayton restaurant offers meals for medical professionals 

The Chicken Spot on Siebenthaler Avenue has started a program of meal sponsors, where customers can donate cash, buy gift cards or declare their intent to buy a meal for a doctor or nurse when they order. The owner also said that he would be matching donations one-for-one.

Woman offers free apartment to family in need 

A woman who owns a vacant apartment in Springfield offered on Facebook to let someone facing homelessness stay there during the coronavirus pandemic. Several families reached out in response to the post.

Singer Lizzo sends lunch to healthcare workers in Dayton area 

Lizzo has been sending lunches to hospitals across the country, and recently added Sugarcreek Health Center and Grandview Hospital to the list.
