Local country music star, Kate Hasting of the band Hasting & Co. released a statement Saturday saying all scheduled shows will go on as planned, after her parents were involved in a car crash in Miami County on June 30.

Her father, Dan Hasting died as a result of the accident.

The statement on the band’s Facebook page reads in part, ‘We have chosen to move forward with all shows scheduled to date as it is our strong belief that they would’ve wanted it this way. They helped us build this project and we intend to fight for it with the same faith they always have. Thank you to all of you who have already reached out and showered us with love.’

Hasting, a Northwestern graduate, is scheduled to perform at the Clark County Fair on July 25 to debut the band’s single ‘American Love.’

A Go Fund Me was set up by Northwestern School Board president Andy Gundolf, and has raised more than its $10,000 goal in about four days.

Kate’s mother, Libbee Hasting is still listed in critical condition. She works at Springfield-Clark CTC and is on the Northwestern School Board. Funeral services for Dan Hasting were not yet available.
