Three of 11 elevators were brought on site in May. Installation of three more will begin mid-month. The three story atrium window framing is also scheduled to start mid-month.
“Another major milestone will be the substantial completion of the mechanical room,” O’Brien said. The mechanical room is located under the “green roof” which will be installed this summer. The green roof will be the largest in southern Ohio.
The main canopy, which faces North Street, is going up and site work such as water, sanitary and storm detention ponds continue.
An average of 250 workers are at the site daily, he said.
Local contractors for June will include Cason Roofing, Central Fire Protection, CIRES, National Stair, Ohio Edison, Vector Interiors and Demmy.
Local material suppliers for June are Bryce Hill, Brain Lumber and Robinson Insulation.
The $235 million Springfield Regional Medical Center is scheduled to open January 2012.
