“The 2019 Acura RDX signals the start of a new era for the Acura brand by delivering design, performance and prestige that will elevate its position in the luxury market’s fastest growing segment,” said Henio Arcangeli, Jr., senior vice president of the Automobile Division of American Honda Motor Co. in a news release.
Acura also unveiled the sports “A-Spec” variant of its MDX, a midsize SUV.
The East Liberty plant is the sole production source for the Acura RDX. Workers at that facility also produce the Honda CR-V. More than 1,400 people from Clark and Champaign counties work at Honda and the carmaker employs more than 14,000 Ohioans overall.
