Hobby Lobby in Springfield remains closed while other surrounding locations have reopened.

Hobby Lobby stores in Miamisburg, Beavercreek, Huber Heights and Mason reopened this week, as did the store in Richmond, Ind.

However, Hobby Lobby’s 2200 N. Bechtle Ave. location remains closed, according to the person who answered the phone at the store and said it would remain closed until further notice.

The reopening of the stores is drawing criticism from some who say the store is defying Gov. Mike DeWine’s order closing all “non-essential” businesses.

An employee at the Beavercreek store said Hobby Lobby is considered essential because the stores provide fabric and educational supplies.

Michaels, another craft store, has also opened, but they are only taking online orders for curbside pick-up.
