Knapke has worked worked with Greenon since 2011 also as a principal and administrator, and as an elementary school teacher at Fairborn Primary School for six years.

“Mr. Knapke’s leadership experiences and passion for education make him an ideal choice for our next superintendent,” said Dennis Henry, Board President. “Combined with his familiarity with Greenon Schools and involvement in our current construction project, he is prepared to step seamlessly into his new role and continue our path to a bright future for our students, staff, families, and community.”
Knapke has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Dayton.

“It is an honor to be selected as the next superintendent of Greenon Schools and to continue to work collaboratively with our students, staff, and community,” said Mr. Knapke. “I am committed to continuing to build on everything we value about Greenon Schools to provide outstanding educational experiences for all of our students.”
Knapke will replace current superintendent Brad Silvus, who accepted the job of superintendent at Graham Local Schools after five years at Greenon.
He will work with Silvus during the summer to transition into his new role that will begin on Aug. 1.
