West High Street from Lowry to Wittenberg will be closed today until 3 p.m., according to the City of Springfield.

Traffic will be detoured at Yellow Springs Street to Columbia Street.

According to the City of Springfield Facebook page, the road closure is due to the demolition of the Crowell-Collier building, which is ongoing.

The Springfield News-Sun has reached out to the city to see if more road closures are expected in the coming days but has not yet heard back.

The City of Springfield approved a demolition permit for the property on July 18, and demolition began shortly afterwards.
