The restaurant posted the graphic above to its Twitter and Facebook pages, with the only comment being “#WaffleHouseIndexRed: 365 Waffle House restaurants closed. 1,627 open.”
This closure affects about a dozen Waffle House restaurants in the Dayton, Hamilton and Springfield areas, each of which are listed as “Temporarily Closed” on the restaurant’s website.
The hashtag “WaffleHouseIndexRed” refers to the Waffle House Index, which is an informal test for how bad a disaster is, based on whether the local Waffle House is open.
