Triad Local School District’s graduation and senior parade plans have changed, according to a school official.

“We are excited to announce that our graduation plans have changed,” said Superintendent Vickie Hoffman. “I have been searching for any safe way to get all of our graduates together for this event.”

Graduation will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, in the high school parking lot. A rain date has not yet been determined.

“Each senior can bring two car loads of people,” Hoffman said. “Graduates will sit in a chair (that they bring) at the front of their family and friends.”

A stage will be set up in the parking lot for seniors to be called up one at a time to walk across the stage and receive their diploma.

There will also be photographers to take photos, which will be shared.

After the graduation and an extra 30 minutes for family pictures, a Graduation Parade will begin.

“Decorate your cars and join us to help honor our seniors,” Hoffman said.

The parade will start at the high school at 3:30, go through Woodstock, North Lewisburg, Mingo and end in Cable at 5:45 p.m.

Triad was originally going to present diplomas to seniors between May 26 to 29 at scheduled times, along with the outdoor graduation on May 31.
