CORONAVIRUS: 5 things Clark, Champaign residents need to know today

Here are five things Clark and Champaign residents need to know about COVID-19, or coronavirus today.

1. Champaign County is looking at ways to recover from the economic impact. One way is to form different types of economic task forces to help provide assistance.

2. Second Harvest Food Bank is receiving additional help from the Ohio National Guard to help meet the growing emergency food needs. Second Harvest will receive two National Guard Light and Medium Tactical Vehicles and additional guards.

3. The Champaign County Library is using 3D printers to help during the pandemic. The library is printing ear guards to help make masks more bearable to wear.

4. The Clark State Performing Arts Center will send blue-lighted messages of hope 8 to 10 p.m. on Thursday night. The center will be illuminated in blue with messages honoring and expressing gratitude to healthcare workers, first responders and essential workers.

5. A Springfield historian is starting an online oral history project to capture the times and experiences of Springfield residents of various generations to be used as a resource in the future.
