Nanette Bentley, PR Director for Mercy Health, said the medical center has followed all safety protocols, “each and every time we care for patients and also follow the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the state department of health to minimize exposure to other patients and our associates.”
“We have followed all CDC cleaning protocols and Mercy Health remains a safe place to work and to seek care,” Bently said.

Mercy Health — Springfield Regional Medical Center is experiencing a workplace outbreak of the coronavirus, according to the Clark County Combined Health District.
The medical center has seven confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Clark County employees, according to CCCHD spokesperson Emma Smales. However, six more positive cases have been identified in employees who live outside of the county, bringing the total number of cases associated with Mercy Health — Springfield to 13.

All employees who have tested positive are not working, Smales said, and are isolating.
Smales said the investigation into the outbreak is ongoing and the number of positive cases could increase.
In addition to Mercy Health — Springfield, the CCCHD is also monitoring a number of other workplace outbreaks at Southbrook Care Center (nine employees, 26 residents, one contact, two deaths), Dole Fresh Vegetables (37 employees) and the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center (four employees, two contacts, one juvenile).
