The Clark County Department of Job and Family Services is extending all SNAP benefits due to COVID-19, or coronavirus, a statement from the county said.

According to the statement, recipients do not need to call the agency for a recertification appointment for the months of March, April and May of 2020.

“Benefits will be automatically extended for six months and recipients will receive an extension notice,” the statement said.

If benefits are supposed to expire today, Tuesday, March 31, because a recertification appointment was not completed, benefits will be automatically reopened for six months, the statement said.

“If you received a notification for recertification appointment for the month of April 2020, please disregard,” the statement said. “SNAP benefits will be automatically extended for six months during this state of emergency for the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Interim reports are also not required for SNAP during March, April and May.
