“We are super excited,” Davis said. “All the anchor tenants have signed up and built up a bunch of different cool concepts that will really add to the space.”
The market will feature five vendors — North High Brewery, Painted Pepper, Iron Works, Portion and a pizza and fresh-baked bread concept.
LOCAL BUSINESS: Staffing firm interested in expanding to Springfield
North High Brewery, a microbrewery out of Columbus, was the first vendor to sign on with the project, Davis said.
“It was very exciting to get that,” Davis said. “They will have all of their beers on tap and also serve growlers.”
The other three vendors are all local.
The Painted Pepper is a Southwest style food truck in Springfield that will be making its debut as a stand-alone restaurant. Iron Works will be a new restaurant concept by a “local entrepreneur,” Davis said.
“Their menu looks unbelievable,” Davis said. “Things like chicken and waffles, dessert waffles and cafe stuff.”
Portion will offer a make-your-own salad bar with fresh lettuce and products produced in the community, Davis said.
The final concept will come from Dan and Lisa Freeman. The Freeman’s own Le Torte Dolci and Salato Deli on Fountain Avenue in Springfield.
Davis said the Freeman’s newest concept will be a, “pizza and fresh-baked bread concept.”
DOWNTOWN: New projects give different look to downtown Springfield
The Springfield News-Sun reached out to the Freeman’s about the new concept and did not receive a response.
COhatch announced it was investing about $2 million into the historic Myer’s Market building late last year.
Along with co-offices and vendors that will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, another aspect of the building will be a mezzanine built over what used to be the market. The space will have a conference room and a banquet room.
“It will be able to fit about 70 people,” Davis said.
Davis said the Springfield community has been, “amazingly supportive,” of COhatch every step of the way.
“We have had an amazing turnout and social media has been so supportive,” Davis said. “Our social media is probably 10 to 1 compared to our other locations, which I think just really show the energy of Springfield and the excitement.”
COhatch also has locations in the Columbus area — “The Hardware Store” and “The Library” in Worthington, “The Newsstand” in Delaware and “The Hub” at Polaris Fashion Place.
