Clark State Community College will host a spring health fair as part of its continued health and wellness initiative.

The annual Health Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3 in the LRC Building, room 207/209 at the Springfield campus of Clark State Community College at 570 East Leffel Lane.

“As a community-minded institution, we are excited to host organized events on campus that increase access to health care,” said Nina Wiley, dean of student engagement and support services for Clark State. “Our annual Health Fair is an opportunity to reach broadly across our community.”

Students, faculty, staff and the public will all have the opportunity to connect with 45 health and social service agencies from Springfield, Cincinnati and Dayton. The organizations will provide a variety of information and some free health screenings to the public.

Screenings will include vision, diabetes, hearing, bone density and mammograms.

Before attending, clients should contact their insurance company regarding mammogram coverage, as not all companies provide the service. However, there are several options for financial assistance available, said Dawn Naill, marketing specialist and Komen project director with Mercy Health.

Mercy Health-Springfield’s state-of-the-art 3D Mobile Mammography Van will also be on site and will offer patience’s their choice of 2D or 3D imaging.

“Clark County is number one in the state for the occurrence of breast cancer,” Naill said.

Before attending, clients should contact their insurance company regarding 3D coverage, as not all companies provide the service. However, there are several options for financial assistance available, said Naill.

“We want to do everything we can to make screening more accessible,” Naill said.
