“We are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity for our students and are grateful for this innovative partnership with State Auto,” said Aimee Belanger-Haas, dean of business and applied technologies at Clark State.
Clark County ESC moves to new location this week
The students who complete the certificate are guaranteed a job with State Auto at an annual salary of $47,000, with graduates working from either the Columbus or Des Moines, Iowa, locations.
Guaranteed hire is only based upon a successful pre-screen before entering the program, completion of a background check and drug screen, and successful completion of the program as defined by State Auto, the release says.
“Clark State continues to make workforce a priority and create new opportunities for students,” Belanger-Haas said.

The partnership with the college was decided by thinking creatively and outside of the box on ways to attract talent, said Canan Collins, vice president of associate relations for State Auto.
“We are super excited to enter this partnership with Clark State,” Collins said. “Most of our new hires have little to no exposure to insurance concepts of the industry. This 12-week certification will provide a significant knowledge base on which we will build.”
Enrollment for the 12-week Insurance Claims certificate is now open.
