The Clark County Educational Service Center (ESC) will move to a new location later this week.

The ESC will move to the Nextedge Applied Research and Technology Park at 4170 Allium Court on Thursday.

“Our new location has great spaces for professional development and meetings, and relocating our offices will free up other locations to house student programs,” according to the center.

Services moving to the new office include substitute teaching, application processing, fingerprinting and background checks, work permit processing, preschool payments, homeschooling notification processing, and ParaPro assessments.

“Over the last four years, the Clark County ESC has introduced multiple new programs to meet the diverse educational needs of students who live and learn in Clark County, including autism and behavioral units and online options,” ESC Superintendent Dan Bennett said in a release. “The relocation plan will allow for future development of new programs and expansion of existing services to ensure that we can continue to serve our community through top-notch educational programs.”

Educational programs including online school, credit recovery, alternative programs and specialized units will move into a new space in the Garfield Building, 25 W. Pleasant St., on Jan. 21. Autism units will move to the Sunset Campus of the Clark County Education Center. The ESC will no longer occupy classrooms at the Clifton Campus, Clark-Shawnee Kindergarten Village.

“For the last three years, we’ve been looking at spaces that might be able to accommodate our CEC-Clifton Campus programs, but costs to purchase and renovate the available buildings were prohibitive,” Bennett said. “Using the Pleasant Street building to accommodate those programs is our best option to support the needs of these students and allow for future growth.”

The ESC phone number, 937-325-7671, will remain the same at the new location.

An Open House for the ESC’s new offices will be held at the Nextedge Applied Research and Technology Park, 4170 Allium Court, on Jan. 16 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
