Brown has worked at the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for 11 years and has specialized in forensic pathology. When she learned Marsh was thinking about retiring, she felt the Clark County position was a good fit for her.
“This is really what I’ve been doing every day,” she said. “I am a very hard worker and Dr. Marsh has really done a fantastic job for over 20 years and I hope I can pick up where he left off.”
The coroner’s duties are to investigate suspicious deaths. Ohio Law requires that the Coroner investigate deaths of persons dying from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly, when unattended by a physician for a reasonable period of time, in detention, or in any suspicious or unusual manner, according to the Ohio State Coroner’s Commission.
Marsh, a Democrat, was last elected in 2016 to a four-year term.
Brown was temporarily appointed to the position by the Clark County Commission this month after Marsh retired and the Clark County Democrats assigned her the position she said.
