Cedarville University and Chick-fil-A have partnered to open a restaurant on campus that will create student jobs and serve both the University and public.

Cedarville University and Chick-fil-A decided to enter into a partnership because they are two Christian establishments who, “share a common vision and mission,” said Janice Suplee, VP of Marketing and Communications at Cedarville. She also said that it helped meet goals involved in the University’s master plan, including the reduction of overcrowded dining halls.

Cedarville University President Thomas White announced the opening of the Chick-fil-A this week. It is expected to open in July of 2020 and will serve both the university and the public. The restaurant will employ student workers and is expected to have a menu at 80 percent of the current full-size commercial menu.

While the location has not been finalized, one possibility includes an addition to the library with a view of the lake, allowing students to study and eat.

Suplee said the new restaurant is a great thing for the University and for Cedarville, as the long-standing cooperative history between the campus students and residents is an investment in the entire community.
