The Bellfontaine family missed their exit at Ohio 55 and their canoes became stuck on a underwater tree. The family’s canoes overturned, dumping Miya into the rushing water. The child was pulled from the river and rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

“The male subject, who was indicated being present ‘fly fishing’ was described as; Caucasian male, thin build, middle-aged and driving a blue, newer model Dodge truck,” the post says.
Investigators are asking for public assistance to identify the fisherman, who may be considered a witness, according to the post.
