“We decided to dress her up like a cupcake,” Newland said.
Stephanie Newland, Kidmynn’s mom, said they made the decision to dress Meadow up as a cupcake because “she is so sweet.”

“We had the idea because she’s a sweetheart, so we got the dog cupcake outfit at the store,” Stephanie Newland said. “Then we made the apron for Kidmynn.”
Brandi Powell, a judge for the competition, said judges look for many different factors before selecting a winner.
“First each contestant has to show well,” Powell said. “Then we look for how hard it was to make the costume, design, if the animal can move, stuff like that.”
While it may seem like a competition about whose goat is the cutest, it means a lot to those participating, Powell said.

“These participants work really hard on their costumes,” Powell said. “We want to make sure our judging reflects that.”
Daily admission is $8 per person, which includes rides. Children under the age of 2-years-old will get in free, but an $8 ticket must be purchased if they will be participating in rides.
The Champaign County Fair, located at 384 Park Ave. in Urbana, will run until Friday, Aug. 9. Doors open each day at 7 a.m. and close around 11 p.m.
