Here are three recent cases of from Clark County Municipal Court that you may have missed.

Springfield man threatens to blow up hospital

Clint Kiser, 56, was charged with making a terroristic threat. He failed to appear in court twice last week on the charges, but appeared Monday and pleaded not guilty.

His bond was set at $5,000.

A next court date in the case has not been set.

Springfield police began their investigation Wednesday when they were called to a home where Kiser told them he needed to go to Springfield Regional Medical Center because he was feeling suicidal.

He was transported to the hospital, where he was treated.

Officers were called back Thursday to the hospital, where staff said Kiser made threats.

“Officers made contact with hospital security and stated that Mr. Kiser was treated and released and refused to leave because he was unhappy with care,” the affidavit says. “(The employee) stated that Mr. Kiser threw a pen at a nurse. (The employee) stated that Mr. Kiser was complaining that he had no ride and continued to be belligerent, throwing his paperwork across the floor.”

The staff member said Kiser was informed that he needed leave, and that’s when he told staff he would come back to the hospital and “bomb it.”“And further stated that ‘this would be another Dayton, Ohio, massacre.’”

Security removed the man from the property and then made contact with police, according to the affidavit.

Kiser was contacted by police and arrested shortly after, the affidavit says.

He was still listed as an inmate in the Clark County Jail Tuesday morning.

Springfield man accused of robbing woman who uses wheelchair

Montilita Allen, 42, is charged with robbery. He pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $7,500.

Springfield police began their investigation on Saturday, Aug. 3, when they were dispatched to the area of 908 W. Main St. for a robbery, according to an affidavit filed with the charges.

“In speaking with the victim, who is in a wheelchair, (she) advised she was leaving the store when the defendant, Montilita Allen, her roommate, approached her in the parking lot of Doc’s Drive-Thru,” the affidavit says. “She advised that Allen then struck her in the face and took $10 in assorted U.S. Currency.”

The woman said that during the robbery, her purse was torn and other items from her purse fell on the ground, the affidavit says.

Officers were able to obtain video that showed the incident and arrested Allen. He told them that he didn’t rob the victim, according to the affidavit. Instead, he said he took a cigarette from her and she gave him $9. A next court date in the case has not been set.

Springfield man allegedly rammed his car into another car twice

Brandon Campbell, 32, is charged with felonious assault. He pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $15,000.

Springfield police began their investigation on July 28 when they were called to the 1900 block of Lagonda Avenue after a woman said her vehicle was intentionally struck, according to an affidavit filed with the charges.

“(The woman) advised that she and (a man) were driving northbound on Lagonda Avenue in the area of James Street,” the affidavit says. “(The woman) advised that a male named Brandon Campbell had been following them in a gold Chevrolet SUV, believed to be a Tahoe.”

They said when they approached a railroad crossing at the intersection of Lagonda Avenue and James Street, they slowed down.

“Mr. Campbell did not slow down and struck (the woman’s) vehicle in the rear bumper,” the affidavit says. “(The woman) believing the strike to be intentional due to all their recent problems with Mr. Campbell, turned west onto Henry Street and headed toward Jimmy T’s Bar. When (the woman) turned left, Mr. Campbell struck her vehicle again, this time damaging the two driver side doors.”

The issue between the victim and Campbell stem from a previous relationship, according to the affidavit. A next court date in the case was not set.
