The city’s two most recent homicides occurred on Monday night. Daltyn Mincer, 19, and Austyn Brown, 19, both died following a shooting at 11:44 p.m. Monday at a house on the 900 block of Clifton Avenue, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
The cause and manner of death has not been determined, but both victims had gunshot wounds, the coroner’s office said
Springfield Police Division Lt. Lou Turner said Monday night’s double homicide and the one from Sunday, March 22, are not related.
Police are also investigating a robbery that took place hours before Mincer and Brown were found dead. Officers were dispatched around 12:45 p.m. to Springfield Regional Medical Center in reference to a robbery incident that took place at a Clifton Avenue home, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who said, “that he lost his job and admitted that he’s been selling marijuana to make money.”
The victim told officers he talked to his friend, Mincer, about buying some marijuana, the report said. The victim then went to meet Mincer at the Clifton Avenue home.
The victim said that while he was inside the upstairs half of the double, “someone grabbed him from behind and put him into a headlock. (The victim) stated another male came out with a semi-automatic handgun and told him that if he moved he would blow his brains out,” the report said.
The three then kicked the victim out of the house before stealing his marijuana and money, the report said.
In Sunday’s homicide, a 28-year-old woman identified as Kirstie Lally was found with a gunshot wound to the head around 7:30 a.m. in the area of 1429 S. Fountain Ave., Turner said.

Turner said detectives are also following several leads in Lally’s case, but do not have a suspect yet.
Springfield detectives on the scene Sunday interviewed a passerby that found Lally, according to the report.
“(Witness) advised that she came out of the house in the area and observed the female laying on the sidewalk,” the report said. “When she got close to the female, she could tell that the female was unresponsive and contacted police.”

2. Suspects leave blood drops after Springfield smoke shop burglary
Officers were dispatched around 9 a.m. to East Main Smoke Shop, 1814 E. Main St., in reference to a burglary, according to a Springfield police report.
When police arrived, an employee told them the store has been closed due to COVID-19 and that the front door was still locked when he arrived.
“Unknown suspect(s) broke out the front window but couldn’t gain entry due to the security boards put in place behind the glass,” the report says.

The employee said an alarm was set, but it never went off.
“Suspect(s) then broke out the glass in the front door and damaged the front metal door. Suspect(s) entered the business and broke two display glass cases,” the report says.
The suspect(s) took an unknown amount of vape machines and fled, leaving blood drops on the glass counter, the report says.
No suspect or witness information was available.
3. Police investigate two robberies in two days at Springfield gas station
Springfield police are investigating a second robbery at a Springfield gas station that happened early Tuesday morning, a day after the first one was reported.
Officers were dispatched just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday to Speedway at 405 S. Burnett Road, on a report of a robbery.
When police arrived, the employees said the suspect entered the store wearing a black mask covering his face.
“The suspect demanded money from the employees who were working in the store,” the report says. “After shouting “give me all the money” as the suspect pointed a black handgun at the store employee, the suspect grabbed money from the cash register and left the store on foot headed north from Speedway parking lot.”

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. It’s unknown how much money was stolen.
According to the report, the suspect was described as a man wearing a black mask, black coat, black jeans and brown boots.
Early Monday morning, a man with a gun robbed this same Speedway just before 1 a.m.
According to the police report, the suspect pointed the gun at an employee, yelled at him to give him the money and threatened him, saying “I’ll shoot you. Do you want to die?”
This suspect was described as a man in his 20s or 30s, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds and has face tattoos. He was wearing a black hoodie with a stripe on the back, black pants, black shoes and green gloves.
No one has been arrested in either case, and it’s not clear whether the robberies are connected.
