Back then everything city was located in this one building. The first floor had arched doors for the fire station.

Think about that time frame. This was before automobiles so there would have been horses and wagons. A stable was located conveniently nearby. With the turn of the century trucks replaced the horses. Upstairs there was a theater, which was still active around 50 years ago.
When the city building was eventually sold, it became a part of the Main Street shopping area.
For the last 15 years, 101 S. Main has been the home of World Threads Import Boutique, a business started originally by John and Carolyn Brichacek.
An art gallery graced the second floor and featured Vietnamese hand-stitched “paintings.” The intricate detail and colors of these silk “embroidery paintings” amazed visitors and customers.
More than two years ago the business and building were purchased by Sarah Trimbach, Trimbach Investments LLC.
Recently Trimbach decided to sell the building and was surprised that the sale moved so quickly.
On Feb. 20 the New Carlisle City Council passed an ordinance for purchase of the building.
On Feb. 25, Trimbach went live online on the World Threads Facebook page to announce what she termed as “huge blowout sale” to reduce inventory. The sale included the art in the “embroidery painting” gallery.
A week ago I made one last visit to this unique store. There I found Ms. Trimbach busy with inventory and managing the sale.
As she explained she really hasn’t had time to determine how her business will move forward. She has not decided if World Threads will be entirely online and is considering other options too.
“My main focus is just getting out of the building,” Trimbach said.

The last day for World Threads in the store front was Saturday, March 9. According to Trimbach, everything they have left will be boxed up until later. She plans to be out of the building by the end of March and will inform her customers of new business decisions via Facebook.
“Watch World Threads on Face Book,” said Trimbach. “Any information will be posted there later on.”
Trimbach was excited as she spoke of the future of the building, which she thinks will be good for New Carlisle.
Currently there is no scheduled time for the city to move from their rented 331 S. Church Street building into their new spaces.
