Assurant Inc. will host a job fair in Springfield on Thursday, Oct. 4, after the company said it is looking for temporary workers to assist with insurance claims related to Hurricane Florence.

A team of the company’s employees from Springfield will also travel to North Carolina to assist policy holders and move their claims along more quickly, said David Blumenthal, a spokesman for the company. The company is looking to fill about 100 openings at the company’s Springfield location, including both temporary and full-time jobs.

“While a number of those roles are temporary, those positions can be a pathway to a full-time role,” Blumenthal said.

The job fair is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Springfield, 100 S. Fountain Ave.

The company is interviewing for customer care specialist positions. Applicants are asked to bring a resume and be prepared for an interview. Applicants can also check out our other open positions and apply online at jobs.assurant.com.

Assurant’s Springfield office provides operational support for customers and clients of its Specialty Property Division. The company is a major employer in Clark County with about 2,300 workers.
