A woman accused of calling in a bomb threat to Kenton Ridge High School in December appeared in Clark County Municipal Court.

Meridith Rowland, 37, was arrested by local police in Wisconsin during what authorities described as a 40-minute long conversation with the school’s principal where she allegedly said she had desires to plant a bomb in the building and planned to “kill everyone.”

“During this time she also stated she wanted to put a bomb in the school and towards the end of the conversation she advised she would kill everyone there,” Clark County Sheriff’s Office investigator Mark Lane wrote in an affidavit.

Students, teachers and staff were ordered to shelter in place during the conversation, the affidavit states. Rowland was charged in Clark County with inducing panic.

Superintendent John Kronour said at the time it was the third time the school was ordered to shelter in place due to an incident.

Rowland was identified as a 1998 graduate of Kenton Ridge in the affidavit.

During her court hearing, questions were posed about Rowland’s mental health. Clark County Municipal Court Judge Denise Moody set her bond at $50,000 and Rowland is currently locked up in the Clark County jail.
