The Triad Board of Education will vote to approve the hiring of its new superintendent Saturday morning.

Vickie Hoffman, who currently works for North Union Local Schools, was named to replace Chris Piper. Piper accepted a job at Troy Local Schools earlier this year.

“Although Triad had three strong finalists vying for the position, it was Ms. Hoffman that stood out to be the best leader for our district,” Triad Board of Education President Chris Millice said in a statement. “Ms. Hoffman started her teaching career at North Union and went on to hold positions of Assistant Principal, Principal, and her current position of Chief Academic Officer.”

Hoffman’s knowledge of what works in the classroom led her to win the position, Millice said.

“It was Ms. Hoffman’s curriculum and professional strengths as well as her enthusiasm and work ethic that made her stand out in the interview process,” he said. “The board received only outstanding recommendations when asked about Ms. Hoffman’s leadership abilities and style.”

She will begin at Triad on Aug. 1.
