David Shea, Superintendent of Southeastern Schools, said that Huff will be showing the board images of the what the final product will look like as well as what the gym will contain.

“The presentation will mostly be about the size of the building and allowing the board to see what the gym is actually going to look like,” Shea said. “We want anyone that might have questions about the project to come to meeting and see what this project is going to look like.”
Shea invited the public to attend the meeting via a post on The Trojan Wall Facebook account.
“If you are interested in hearing about the plans for the multipurpose building Southeastern encourages you to attend the meeting,” the post said.
Shea previously said that one of the many purposes for the proposed building is indoor recess.
Another use Shea said is that the community could possibly use the gym in the mornings. Shea said that he hoped that some local walkers who walk around town during cold months could also get some use out of the building.
However, Shea said that the biggest use for the building would be after school youth leagues and school sports. Because teams will be able to get into the building quickly after school, the building could allow teams to have practices that would not run as late, Shea said.

Shea has not stated the estimated cost of the building, but the building will be close to about 14,000 to 16,000 square feet, Shea said previously, although that number is not official.
The district is not raising tax dollars for the project and will likely finance the cost and pay it off over several years, Shea said previously. The new gym will not replace the current gym used at Southeastern High School.
Originally, the contract between the district and the firm constructing the gym had a start date of August 2018 and a completion date of July 2019, however the projects start date is still unknown.
“After the board sees this presentation, we hope they decide to approve the plan so that we can begin moving forward with getting bids,” Shea said. “When we start looking into construction bids and approving those, then we can start the project.”
