The recipients of scholarships that total $5,000 or more include:
Isaiah Averhart, son of Thaddeus and Maria Averhart, will attend Ohio Dominican University. He accepted $115,600 from the university.
Kimona Battle, son of Tonia Battle, is attending the University of Toledo. He accepted $15,000 from the university and $5,200 in scholarships from the Taco Bell Andy Pearson scholarship.
Savannah Beverly, daughter of Michael and Talya Beverly, will attend Kent State University. She accepted a total of $5,500 in scholarships from Kent State.
Jaylynn Bowshier, daughter of Jackie Horner and Joe Bowshier, will attend Clark State Community College. She accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Ja’Vonne Brashears, son of Marla Perry and John Brashears, will attend Malone University. He accepted $80,000 in track scholarships and an additional $12,000 in academic scholarships.
Jessica Brinegar, daughter of Cheri Robbins, will attend Wittenberg University. She accepted $98,000 from the Wittenberg University Scholar Award, Alumni Music Scholar Award, Board of Directors Grant and Residency Grant.
Christian Carey, son of Daniel and Susan Carey, will attend Miami University of Ohio. He accepted a total of $5,000 in scholarships from the university.
Jhane’ Carter, daughter of Krista Peterson, will attend Wright State University. She accepted a total of $10,000 from the university.
Taysia Caudill, daughter of Arica Shaw and Lee Caudill, will attend Wittenberg University. She accepted $64,000 in scholarships from Wittenberg.
Sara Closson, daughter of Michael and Christina Closson, will attend Clark State Community College. She accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Charlotte Connolly, daughter of Rebecca Neu, will attend Ohio University. She accepted a total of $44,000 in scholarships from OU.
Lauren Davis, daughter of Darren and Deanna Davis, will attend Ohio University. She accepted the OHIO Promise Scholarship of $5,000. She also accepted the Historic South High School Class of 1968 Scholarship and the John Minchin UAW Scholarship totaling $1,175.
Veronica Easom, daughter of Dennis and Dianne Easom, will attend Wittenberg University. She accepted a total of $92,500 in scholarships from Wittenberg University Provost Scholarship, the Kiwanis Scholarship, the Charles A. Brougher Memorial Scholarship and the Catholic Charities Martha Harrison Memorial Scholarship.
Kendra Eckler, daughter of Camille-Raven Eckler, will attend Clark State Community College. She accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Carly Evans, daughter of Jack and Kimberly Evans, will attend Heidelberg University. She accepted a Trustees Award of $16,500 from Heidelberg.
Brianna Frantz, daughter of Brian and Elizabeth Frantz, will attend Clark State Community College. She accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Sierra Fuller, daughter of Richard and Jenifer Fuller, will attend Clark State Community College. She accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Caitlyn Guenther-Smith, daughter of the late Dixie Guenther and Thomas Smith, will attend Clark State Community College. She accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Darius Harper, son of Danielle and Darren Harper, will attend Miami University of Ohio. He accepted a $120,000 basketball scholarship at Miami.
Arielle Hickman, daughter of Joy Hickman, will attend Wittenberg University. She accepted a total of $64,000 from the university.
Alexandria Hookfin, daughter of Cornelius and Anita Hookfin, will attend the University of Toledo. She accepted a total of $14,000 from the university.
Donye’ James, son of Dana and Aundria James, will attend the University of Akron. He received the University of Akron School of Music Scholarship for $6,000.
Ze’ya Laws, daughter of Amber Underwood and Steve Laws, will attend Capital University. She accepted a total of $151,388 from the Capital Award and the Burger King scholarship.
McKenzie Lewis, daughter of Teresa Case, will attend Clark State Community College. She accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Johnna Linson, daughter of Elvin Linson and Angela Gregory, will attend Clark State Community College. She accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Kordell Looney, son of Rudolph Looney, will attend the University of Kentucky. He accepted a total of $250,000 in athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Kentucky.
Marina Mattox, daughter of Jeremiah and Betty Mattox, will attend Heidelberg University. She accepted a total of $14,000 in scholarships from Heidelberg.
Timothy Oppy Jr., son of Timothy Oppy Sr. and Peggy DePriest, will attend Clark State Community College. He accepted a total of $15,000 as a Champion City Scholar.
Nicholas Pavlatos, son of Nancy Pavlatos, will attend Northeast Ohio Medical University/Kent State University. He accepted a total of $34,400 in scholarships from Kent State.
Ryan Prendergast, son of David and Sheila Prendergast, will attend the University of Arizona. He accepted a total of $24,000 in scholarships from the university.
Demoni’ Ramey, daughter of Nashua Davis and Demon Ramey, will attend Miami University. She accepted a total of $79,364 from the Redhawk Excellence Scholarship, the Redhawk Grant and the Lois K. Klavon scholarship.
Olivia Rogers, daughter of Toni Rogers and Olsen Rogers, will attend University of California-Davis. She accepted a total of $6,500 in scholarship from the Springfield Foundation and $5,500 from UC-Davis.
Ta’Leaha Sanford, daughter of Nicole Jackson and David Sanford, will attend the University of Cincinnati. She accepted a total of $40,000 from the university.
Madelyn Shaffer, daughter of Wendy Shaffer and Brian Shaffer, will attend the University of Pittsburgh. She accepted an athletic scholarship to swim for the University of Pittsburgh.
Michilah Smith, daughter of Rosalyn Harding and Michael Smith, will attend Heidelberg University. She accepted a $32,000 University Scholarship.
Luke Southward, son of Andra Southward, will attend the University of Akron. He accepted a total of $24,000 in scholarships from the university.
Mary Stute, daughter of John and Tracey Stute, will attend DePauw University. She accepted a total of $15,000 in scholarships from DePauw.
Jaylyn Taylor, niece of Pearla Taylor, will attend Kent State University. She accepted a total of $35,724 from grants and the Oscar Ritchie Memorial scholarship.
Brayden Underwood, son of Diana and Willard Underwood, will attend Urbana University. He accepted $88,000 in scholarships at UU.
