Services for Darin Binkley will take place on Friday, April 6, and Saturday, April 7, according to an e-mail from Northeastern Principal Todd Justice. A visitation will be hosted on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and the funeral will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. Both services will be hosted at the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, located at 830 N. Limestone St. in Springfield.
Binkley’s death has heavily impacted the community and the school, Superintendent John Kronour said.

“You can’t plan for things like this,” he said. “The building, Northeastern High School, is reeling (Tuesday) from the loss. We’re just trying to pick up the pieces.”
Binkley was in his first year as athletic director at Northeastern High School and had served as an educator for 26 years. He was 52.
