Clark-Shawnee has rescheduled the open house for the middle and high school renovations.

Clark-Shawnee Local School District has rescheduled tonight’s open house after recommendations from the Clark County Combined Health District, Ohio Department of Health and Governor Mike DeWine regarding large gatherings.

The open house to show off Shawnee Middle and High School renovations was originally set for 6 to 8 p.m. tonight. A new date will be shared once the event has been rescheduled.

The project architect, SHP, also planned to set up a virtual reality system during the open house to allow visitors to take a virtual walk through the complete 7-12 campus and elementary school.

Earlier this month, renovated buildings were turned back over to the district as they came closer to completion.

The whole north side of the building, which includes 18 to 24 spaces as well as a new office suite, were all turned over to the district, Superintendent Brian Kuhn said.

Safety features will also be updated in the coming weeks and months, including a secure entry vestibule and new visitor check-in and screening systems.

Kuhn said the district expects to have the middle/high school renovations completed by the start of 2020-21 school year with the elementary school completed by March 2021.
