Clark State Community College will hold an employment open house in search of new adjunct faculty members.

Clark State will host the Adjunct Faculty Employment Open House on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on the main campus in Springfield.

The college is seeking qualified, diverse, progressive instructors to teach classes in a variety of academic areas and formats, according to a statement from Clark State.

“We’re excited about hosting this event and connecting with members of our community who would like to make an impact by teaching Clark State students,” said assistant dean of Arts and Science for Clark State Mike Cuffman.

Cuffman said applicants will meet administrators and full-time program faculty at the open house to discuss qualifications and employment opportunities.

“Applicants should bring copies of resumes, transcripts and applicable certifications/licenses, if feasible,” Cuffman said. “They will be helpful in determining if required qualifications are met.”

Shashi Chadha has been an instructor at Clark State for more than 40 years. In 1977, she began teaching Introduction to Psychology at Clark State.

“I love teaching at Clark State and always feel proud to be one of the adjunct faculty at our college,” Chadha said. “It is very satisfying to see some of our students doing well in life and become contributing members to our community as nurses in the hospital, managers at restaurants and stores and others finishing their master’s degrees and workings as counselors or psychologists.”
