A retired Air Force colonel will take over in June as Clark State Community College’s vice president of business affairs.

John Devillier previously served as commander of the 88th Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where he was in charge of about 5,500 personnel and an annual budget of $300 million. In his new role, Devillier will serve as chief financial officer at Clark State.

The position will oversee business operations at the college’s campuses in Springfield, Beavercreek and Bellefontaine. Devillier will be in charge of strategic and financial planning for the college. He will also oversee operations that include human resources and training, facilities and grounds, food services and public safety.

Devillier will replace Joe Jackson, who retired at the end of last year. He is scheduled to begin serving in the new role on June 1.

“My family and I are excited about the opportunity to work with Clark State to help students fulfill their goals and continue to make a difference in the Miami Valley,” he said in a press release announcing new role.

At Wright-Patterson, Devillier oversaw logistics operations, along with engineering, medical, communication, security and employees relations duties, among other responsibilities. He was also previously served as a special assistant for general flag officer matters for the U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon in Arlington, Va.

Clark State President Jo Alice Blondin said his 30 years of human resource experience will be a good fit in his new role. As chief financial officer, he will also be responsible for providing business advice to Blondin and the college’s Board Finance and Facilities Committee.

“Clark State worked closely with him during his tenure as the 88th Air Base Wing and Installation Commander at WPAFB, and now we are extremely fortunate to welcome him to Clark State Community College as our vice president for Business Affairs,” Blondin said.
