Kings Island announces new deals for military members

A new partnership announced Tuesday between amusement park owner Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. and identity verification network provider ID.me will allow military community members to purchase specially priced tickets at 11 Cedar Fair properties, including Kings Island and Cedar Point.

“This will complement the savings programs we offer on bases and at the front gate at many of our parks, but now with the added convenience of purchasing from home,” said Scott Tanner, corporate vice president of sales for Sandusky-based Cedar Fair.

Military service members, veterans and their families can verify their military status through ID.me and enjoy savings at Cedar Fair parks of up to 40 percent for a one-day ticket at the daily ticket prices, according to the companies.

“Physical ID cards aren’t portable to digital channels so members of special groups like veterans and students haven’t been able to access their exclusive price-points online,” said Blake Hall, co-founder and chief executive officer of ID.me, in a written statement. “With this new partnership, military community members can now use ID.me’s group verification technology to securely submit and prove their identity and military status online and claim their Cedar Fair savings.”

For specific savings, pricing and time frame, check each park’s individual website at www.visitkingsisland.com or find sister park websites at www.CedarFair.com.
