In a Facebook statement by the Import House, the store announced its upcoming closure “with great sadness but no regrets.”
“Over the past several years, retail has generally declined, and it has been especially challenging for family-owned shops in smaller communities like ours,“ the store stated. ”We enjoyed a wonderful 39 years in Yellow Springs, forming lifelong friendships, finding life partners and spouses, watching our children grow and have children, and nurturing and supporting each other and our community.”
A spokesperson for the Import House said they just put out a going-out-of-business sign Sunday, but there’s no official date of closing yet. In an edited statement on Facebook, the store said it’s not an immediate closing, but they are aiming for the end of the month.

The store is currently offering a 25 percent discount off sale items.
Import House expressed they have “built beautiful lives from the prosperity and stability provided by the Import House stores” and thanked coworkers, customers and partners.
“We are grateful to the Yellow Springs community for 39 years of support and love, which allowed us to create two Import House locations that became beacons of the same love and support in their communities,” the store said. “Thank you so much.”
