Endangered Missing Adult Alert cancelled; Champaign County man with dementia found safe

An Endangered Missing Adult Alert for a 76-year-old man with dementia who was reported missing Wednesday evening in Champaign County was cancelled after he was found safe.

The alert was cancelled just before 7 a.m. Monday when Roger Sexton was found in Indiana with his Maltese dog named Baby, according to the Champaign County Communications Center. His family picked him and up and returned him to the area safely.

Sexton left his home around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, on Kiser Lake Road in the village of Conover with his dog, in unknown clothes besides a hat.

An alert issued after he left the area said he is 6-foot-2 tall, weighs 180 pounds, has brown hair and green eyes. He had been seen last in a black 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, the initial alert said.
