Graham school board interviews candidates, expects to appoint new member next week

The Graham Local School District Board of Education has interviewed multiple candidates to fill the unexpired term of former board member Alan Mitchell and expects to appoint a new member next week. STAFF.

The Board of Education of the Graham Local School District has interviewed multiple candidates to fill the unexpired term of former board member Alan Mitchell.

Mitchell, who had served on the board since January, resigned on Nov. 23 due to ongoing health concerns.

The six applicants were: Robert Welker, retired Professor Emeritus at Wittenberg University; Julie Burchfield, Energy Efficiency Product Manager at Energy Solutions; Troy Teepee, Vice President of Operations at Ascent Risk Management; Glenn Sullivan, Health Physicist at Cardinal Health; Michael Amstutz, Financial Planner; and Ryan Pine, teacher at Urbana City Schools.

The selection and appointment of the new board member is expected at their next meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21.

The board must name a replacement within 30 days of Mitchell’s resignation.

The newly appointed member will serve the unexpired term until Dec. 31, 2023.
