Warrant issued for suspect in Springfield homicide

A warrant has been issued for the suspect in Sunday night’s deadly shooting in Springfield.

Jashon Robinson, 21, has been identified as the suspect in the shooting, Springfield Police Lt. Lou Turner said. As of Tuesday morning, Robinson was not listed as an inmate in the Clark County Jail.

He was identified based on witnesses and video evidence obtained from a business near the scene of the shooting, Turner said.

“A warrant has been issued for him for murder,” Turner said.

Turner said police received a call, “of a man shot in the street,” in front of a restaurant at 1222 S. Center St. around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday night.

When officers arrived they found a victim with, “several gunshot wounds to the body,”

“He was shot once in the chest, once in the hip and once in the arm,” Turner said.

The victim, who has been identified as Tyler Fullen, 27, of Springfield, was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Turner said Fullen and Robinson, “got into a physical altercation,” and that was then Robinson backed away and, “drew his gun from his waist or pocket and shot.”
