Springfield police are investigating four vandalized vehicle incidents after there were reports of them being spray painted sometime overnight on Tuesday and Thursday in the same neighborhood.

Four vehicles were spray painted sometime overnight on Tuesday and Thursday in the same neighborhood.

Officers were dispatched around 10 a.m. Tuesday to the 1600 block of Southern Parkway for a report of a vehicle being vandalized, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they found a tan Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck parked on the street in front of a residence that had brown spray paint along the driver’s side and on the hood.

“(The victim) stated he found the spray paint on the vehicle when he returned home just prior to calling,” the report says. “He stated that he had been up throughout the night and did not see anyone come by and damage the truck.”

While officers were at the residence, they noticed a Chrysler Town and Country minivan at the neighbor’s house that also had been spray painted with brown paint on the front license place and bumper, according to a second police report.

The owner was unaware of the vandalism until officers told her.

Officers also responded around 9:30 a.m. to the 1700 block of Southern Parkway for a report of a vehicle being vandalized, according to a third police report.

When police arrived, they found a cream-colored Cadillac DeVille parked in the driveway in front of the residence that had brown spray paint along the driver’s side.

“(The victim) stated that his wife was notified by their neighbor that their vehicle had been spray painted. He stated that they have a Ring doorbell system that recorded the incident,” the report says.

In the video, an unknown vehicle is seen driving north on Southern Parkway when it stops on the road just past the residence, reverses and then stops next to the Cadillac for a moment before continuing north again, the report says.

Officers were unable to get an accurate description of the vehicle or any occupants.

A couple days later, officers responded around 7:30 a.m. Thursday to the 200 block of West Singer Street, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, the victim said his neighbor knocked on his door to tell him that his black 2002 BMW was spray painted on the driver’s side window and door, and on the passenger side front and back windows.

The victim said he had video and that it showed four juveniles in the area around 12:50 a.m. Thursday, the report says.

No suspect or witness information was available for any of the incidents, and Springfield police continue their investigations.
