When police arrived, they met with a Fire Captain who confirmed the fire as an arson to a 2013 Dodge Charger that was parked in the front yard and listed for sale.
The reporting party told officers she parked the vehicle in the front yard on Friday evening and was awaken on Saturday morning to someone telling her something was on fire.

“When looking out the front window of her house at 5:29 a.m., she noticed the vehicle was on fire and immediately called 911,” the report says.
The Fire Captain found evidence of the arson incident on the front porch of the house.
“Captain located an anti-freeze bottle on the front porch that had what smelled like gasoline inside of it. There was also a rag sitting on the table next to the anti-freeze jug (the reporting party) stated wasn’t hers and wasn’t there last night,” the report says.

The 2013 Dodge Charger was a total loss, the captain said.
No witness or suspect information was available.
Springfield fire and police divisions continue their investigation into this arson incident.
