1. A late evening discovery

According to a statement from Blueher’s employer, Scott McDaniel Trucking, based out of Terra Haute, Ind., Blueher arrived at Lineage Logistics, located at 1985 Airpark Drive in Springfield, late Sunday night and went off the clock at 12:31 a.m. Monday. Blueher was discovered dead in his semi-trailer at 8:43 p.m. Monday by employees of Lineage.

2. Contact with parent company lost

Scott McDaniel, the owner and Blueher’s former brother-in-law, said he last spoke with Blueher about 10 p.m. Sunday, but became suspicious when he didn’t hear from the man by noon the following day.

“I knew that there was something wrong when I couldn’t get a hold of him because we’ll talk two or three times a day,” McDaniel said.

He said Blueher’s family is hanging in there and making preparations for his funeral.
